Four shortlisted to supply 7,000 base stations for telco's rural broadband push.
India's Gemini Communications Ltd. has emerged the lowest bidder for a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. contract to provide equipment for broadband services in rural areas, the Business Line newspaper reported Tuesday, citing unnamed people close to the development.
State-run Bharat Sanchar has shortlisted four companies for the contract and Gemini quoted INR9.83 billion, the report said.
China's ZTE Corp. quoted INR10.65 billion, U.S.-based Harris Stratex Networks Inc. bid INR10.94 billion and Israel's Alvarion Ltd. quoted INR11.01 billion, the report said.
